The first printed roster of the Rotary Club of Chicago was issued during the club’s first year, in the fall of 1905. It consisted a small folder, 3x5 inches in size, of which so far as known only one copy exists, in the possession of Rotary International. The only printing on the front was ROTARY CLUB and on the back the imprint of “H. L. Ruggles & Co., Printers, 142 Monroe St., Chicago."

Rotary meeting flag first displayed in August of 1938 over the Randolph Street entrance of the Hotel Sherman. Posted at the suggestion of a Rotarian who saw a similar meeting flag used in Philadelphia.

Stanley C. Forbes, a member of Rotary International, presents a plaque won by the Rotary Club of Chicago in the Clubs of the Year contest, sponsored by The Rotarian magazine, for 1938-39, to Herbert Taylor, President of the Rotary Club of Chicago, on June 13, 1940 in Havana, Cuba.
